Magda is a UK based Polish printmaking artist and designer. In 2008 she graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Anglia Ruskin University. She currently lives and works in Cumbria, where she moved in 2013.
In her creative process Magda focuses on the tension between intertwined nature and culture. She explores the emotional response to environmental changes, the connections between our bodies and the surroundings. Magda translates the subjects into visual language using various printmaking techniques. She values the process for its ambiguities: repetition yet uniqueness, multiplicity yet unity. These values echo the moments captured into images.
The development of Magda’s work draws influence from her fine art background. She employs diverse mark making techniques to develop artworks from her hand drawings. The final image is strongly influenced by the process itself. The prints run in limited editions. Magda’s distinct pattern designs often evolve from her prints and are a fusion of hand artwork, photography and digital art software.
